MPSC released the original notification (advertisement number 017/2026) for the Maharashtra Group C Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2026 on 25 June 2026, for a total of 2,619 vacancies. That notification had stated the exam would be conducted online through a Computer Based Test (CBT) system.
On 16 July 2026, MPSC issued a corrigendum (reference number CMA-0426/Pr.Kr.42/2026/Jahirat) stating that, based on demands and feedback received from candidates, the Commission has decided to defer the move to CBT until further review, to be taken up again by July 2027. As a result, the Preliminary Exam 2026 will now be conducted in the traditional offline mode (OMR-based) at 37 district centres across Maharashtra.

How to Apply How to Select District Exam Centre
For candidates who have already submitted their application (under Advt. No. 017/2026)
These candidates must select their district exam centre through the MPSC online portal. This step is mandatory even if the fee has already been paid.
- Log in to your MPSC candidate profile on the online application system.
- Go to “My Account”.
- Find this notification (Advt. No. 017/2026) and click “View.”
- Click the “Center Selection” button.
- Choose your preferred district centre from the 37 available district centres.
- Click “Apply & Submit” to confirm your selection.
This district-centre selection process opens on 19 July 2026 at 2:00 PM and must be completed by 31 July 2026, 23:59. Candidates who only need to select a centre do not need to pay the fee again.
For new applicants
New candidates applying for the first time must select their preferred district centre at the time of submitting the application itself, and must complete the application along with online fee payment within the extended deadlines above.
Important Instructions
- If a candidate does not complete the district-centre selection process, their exam centre will be decided based on the Correspondence Address given in their application.
- If a chosen district centre cannot be operated, or if the number of candidates exceeds a centre’s seating capacity, the Commission will allot candidates to the next nearest available district centre.
- Once a district centre or exam sub-centre is selected by the candidate – or allotted by the Commission – no request for change will be entertained under any circumstances.
- All other terms and conditions of the original notification (017/2026) remain unchanged.
