MHT CET Provisional Merit List 2026 – Overview

MHT CET Merit List 2026: Important Dates

Note: The provisional merit list date had earlier been postponed from July 15 to July 19, and then finally to July 22, 2026. Candidates should keep checking cetcell.mahacet.org for any further official updates.

What Is the MHT CET Provisional Merit List?

It is a ranked list of every candidate who registered for CAP 2026-27, completed the required document verification (either E-Scrutiny or Physical Scrutiny), and was found eligible. The rank is based on:

  • MHT CET 2026 percentile score (or JEE Main / NEET score, where applicable, as per the eligibility rules)
  • Reservation category and sub-category
  • Candidature type (Maharashtra State, All India, Jammu & Kashmir/Ladakh Migrant, or Minority)

It is called “provisional” specifically because it can still be corrected before the Final Merit List is published.

Who Is Covered By This Merit List

Per the official notice, the merit list and CAP process cover candidates seeking admission to First Year B.E./B.Tech (4-year) and Integrated M.E./M.Tech (5-year) programs in Government, Government-Aided, University-Managed, and Unaided Private Professional institutes in Maharashtra, across these candidature types:

  • Maharashtra State candidates – must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics compulsory (plus Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science or an equivalent subject), scored at least 45% marks in aggregate (40% for Reserved category, EWS, and PWD candidates from Maharashtra), and appeared in MHT-CET 2026 with a non-zero score.
  • All India / Jammu & Kashmir / Ladakh Migrant candidates – similar 10+2 subject and marks criteria, with eligibility based on JEE (Main) non-zero positive score or MHT-CET 2026 non-zero score (JEE Main score is given preference over MHT-CET where a candidate holds both).
  • Migrant candidates, NRI/OCI/PIO, children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, and Foreign National candidates – eligibility based on 10+2 marks along with JEE (Main), NEET, or MHT-CET 2026 score, as applicable; these candidates are directed to the separate Foreign National registration portal.
  • Candidates with a minimum three-year Diploma in Engineering and Technology, or a three-year Diploma of Vocation in an allied sector, are also eligible under specified major discipline lists (Agriculture Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Engineering, Leather Technology, Packaging Technology, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Printing Engineering, Fashion Technology, Textile Chemistry).

Application Fee (CAP Registration)

Candidates who already registered for MHT-CET 2026 do not need to pay this fee again for CAP registration. Only candidates using a valid JEE (Main) or NEET (UG) score who did not register for MHT-CET 2026 need to pay it online (Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI). The fee is non-refundable once paid.
