Section-wise Marks Distribution (B.Tech LEET)
Since there is no negative marking, candidates are advised to attempt all 90 questions, even if unsure of the answer. Leaving a question blank offers zero advantage.
HSTES LEET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Before appearing for the exam, candidates should have already verified their eligibility during the application stage. The two qualifying pathways accepted by HSTES are:
- A Diploma in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories)
- A B.Sc. degree with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories), provided the candidate passed Class 12 with Mathematics as a subject
For Kashmiri Migrants, an additional relaxation of 10% is provided in the minimum marks requirement.
B.Sc. graduates must also have passed Engineering Graphics/Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year engineering programme, along with second year subjects.

HSTES LEET 2026 Result and Counselling Process
After the examination, HSTES will prepare an inter-se merit list based on each candidate’s OCET 2026 score. This section explains what happens after the exam and how the seat allotment process works.

- The result will be published as a rank-wise merit list on the official HSTES portal.
- Candidates appearing on the merit list will be eligible for the online counselling process.
- Counselling begins: July 9, 2026
- HSTES will conduct two rounds of online off-campus counselling for seat allotment.
- Counselling fee can be paid online (debit card, credit card, net banking) or offline via e-challan at designated branches of Axis Bank and PNB.
Tie-Breaking Criteria for Equal Marks
If two or more candidates score equal marks in OCET 2026, the inter-se merit rank is decided in the following order:
- Higher marks in Mathematics in OCET
- Higher marks in Physics in OCET
- Higher aggregate in Engineering subjects in OCET
- Senior in age (date of birth)
- Alphabetical order of candidate’s name, then father’s name, then mother’s name
Counselling Categories
Both rounds of counselling are open to candidates from all reservation categories, including General, SC, BC-A, BC-B, ESM (Ex-Servicemen), FF (Freedom Fighter), PH (Persons with Disabilities), KM (Kashmiri Migrant), HOGC, TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver), and RoHC (Rest of Haryana Category), with 25% horizontal reservation for female candidates.
