Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has released Circular DEP-01/2026 dated 30th May 2026 to fill up 11 Group B and C posts on deputation (including short-term contract) on Foreign Service Terms. The online application window is open from 30th May 2026 to 19th June 2026 at www.fssai.gov.in under the ‘jobs@fssai(careers)’ tab. The hard copy of the application must reach FSSAI Headquarters by 13th July 2026. The maximum age limit for deputation appointments is 56 years as on the last date of online application. There is no application fee. Only currently serving Government/PSU/Autonomous Body officers are eligible to apply – fresh/direct candidates are not eligible for deputation posts.

FSSAI Deputation 2026 Overview
FSSAI Deputation Recruitment 2026 is open exclusively to serving officers of Central/State Government, Union Territories, PSUs, Universities, and Autonomous Organisations. It is not a direct recruitment – only candidates currently in regular government/PSU service are eligible.

A total of 11 vacancies have been announced across 4 posts under FSSAI Deputation Circular DEP-01/2026.
Senior Private Secretary (2) and Assistant (6) together account for 8 of the 11 vacancies.
How to Apply for FSSAI Deputation Recruitment 2026
Applications for FSSAI Deputation 2026 must be submitted online first, followed by a physical hard copy through proper channel. Both steps are mandatory.
- Visit the official FSSAI website at www.fssai.gov.in and click on the ‘jobs@fssai(careers)’ tab.
- Apply online for the relevant post between 30th May 2026 and 19th June 2026. Ensure you fulfil the eligibility criteria as on the closing date (19.06.2026).
- Note your FSSAI Application ID generated after online submission.
- Take a printout of the completed online application form and get it duly certified by your employer/Cadre Controlling Authority in the prescribed format (Certificate by the Employer/Cadre Controlling Authority as per Annexure enclosed with the circular).
- Attach the following supporting documents (duly certified photocopies):
- Integrity certificate from employer
- Vigilance clearance certificate
- Details of major/minor penalties imposed during the last 10 years
- Up-to-date certified photocopies of detailed APARs for the last 5 years (attested by an officer of Under Secretary rank or above)
- Send the complete hard copy package through proper channel to reach by 13th July 2026 at: Administrative Officer, Recruitment Cell, FSSAI Headquarters, Room No. 312, 3rd Floor, FDA Bhawan, Kotla Road, New Delhi.
- Note: Departmental officers in the feeder cadre who are in the direct line of promotion are not eligible for deputation consideration.
Important: Applications submitted only online without a hard copy, and hard copies received without an online application number, will both be liable for cancellation. Once submitted, applications cannot be withdrawn.

FSSAI Deputation 2026 – Pay Scale
All 4 posts carry Central Government pay scales under the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix. The pay for deputation candidates will be governed as per DoPT Office Memorandum No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17th June 2010 and subsequent orders.
PSE/PSU/Autonomous Body officials whose salaries are on IDA basis should refer to the IDA-CDA Equivalency chart (Annexure-III) to check their eligibility for deputation.

What is the Eligibility for FSSAI Deputation Posts 2026?
All 4 posts require the candidate to be a serving officer in Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, Universities, Recognised Research Institutions, Public Sector Undertakings, Semi-Government, Statutory, or Autonomous Organisations. The specific experience requirements for each post are as follows:
DEP-01/2026-01 – Senior Private Secretary (Pay Level-08) Candidates must be holding an analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre; OR must have completed 2 years’ regular service in Pay Level-6 or equivalent in the parent cadre. Role: Secretarial Assistance (Group B, PL-08).
DEP-01/2026-02 – Assistant Manager (IT) (Pay Level-07) Candidates must be holding an analogous post on regular basis; OR have completed 5 years’ regular service in Pay Level-6 or equivalent; AND must possess B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or any Engineering discipline, or MCA, or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. Role: IT Support (Group B, PL-07).
DEP-01/2026-03 – Assistant (Pay Level-06) Candidates must be holding an analogous post on regular basis; OR have completed 10 years’ regular service in Pay Level-4 or equivalent; AND possess 3 years’ experience in administration, human resource development, or vigilance matters depending on the post requirement; AND hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University. Role: Admin and Financial related duties (Group B, PL-06).
DEP-01/2026-04 – Junior Assistant Grade-I (Pay Level-04) Candidates must be holding an analogous post on regular basis; OR have completed 8 years’ regular service in Pay Level-2 or equivalent; AND possess 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognised Board or University. Role: Admin and Financial related duties (Group C, PL-04).
FSSAI Deputation 2026 – Tenure
All deputation appointments under FSSAI DEP-01/2026 will be for a period not exceeding 1/2/3 years (depending on the post) in the first instance, subject to availability of vacancy. The tenure may be extended at the discretion of the Competent Authority based on performance appraisal of the deputationist and in consultation with the parent department. The deputation to FSSAI is exempted from the rule of immediate absorption.
