CSIR IHBT Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess the exact essential qualifications mentioned against each post. All degrees must be from recognized universities/institutes. Desirable qualifications (research experience, specific skills) will be given preference. Detailed eligibility for each position is as follows:

  • 11001 – Project Associate PAT-I (Biomass to Chemicals Project): M.Sc. Chemistry / M.Pharma in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Desirable: Experience in organic synthesis.
  • 11002 – Senior Project Associate (Mogroside Sweetener Project): M.Sc. in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Phytochemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Pharmacy OR M.Tech/ME Chemical Engineering OR Doctoral Degree in relevant field + required years of research experience (3 years for Masters level or 2 years for PhD). Desirable: Hands-on experience with Membrane Filtration, Chromatography separation at lab/pilot scale with proven publications.
  • 11003 – Project Associate PAT-II (Mogroside Project): M.Sc. Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Pharmacy OR B.Tech/BE Chemical/Industrial Engineering + 2 years research experience. Desirable: Working knowledge of Statistical software (ANOVA/Python/MatLab) and independent operation of HPLC for quantitative & qualitative analysis.
  • 11004 & 11005 – Project Assistant PA-I (HRS-Tea Project): SSC/10th + ITI from recognized Board/Institute. Desirable (11004): Certified Drone Pilot with valid DGCA license and experience in mountainous regions. Desirable (11005): Work experience in IT/Computer or remote sensing laboratory with exposure to sophisticated instruments.
  • 11006 – Project Associate PAT-I (HRS-Tea Project): M.Sc. in Horticulture/Agronomy/Tea Sciences/Biochemistry. Desirable: Working knowledge in Remote Sensing and GIS.
  • 11007 & 11008 – Project Associate PAT-I (Himalayan Bio-resources Project): Master’s degree in Life Sciences/Biological Sciences/Biotechnology/Botany. Desirable (11007): Experience in plant cell and organ culture, metabolite biosynthetic pathway regulation, and transcriptomic analysis. Desirable (11008): Experience in plant tissue culture, molecular biology, or synthetic biology of medicinal and aromatic plants.
  • 11009 – Project Associate PAT-I (Himalayan Bio-resources Project): B.E/B.Tech. or Master’s Degree in Remote Sensing/GIS/Geoinformatics/Geography/Forestry/Ecology/Computer Science. Desirable: Work experience in Remote Sensing/GIS.
  • 11010 – Project Associate PAT-I (Himalayan Bio-resources Project): B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent, or MCA. Desirable: Strong proficiency in web-based applications (front-end/back-end), relational databases, server administration, GIGW-compliant website development, dashboards, version control, and cybersecurity.
  • 11011 – Project Associate PAT-I (Mogroside Project): M.Sc. in Food Science & Technology / Food Fermentation / Food and Nutrition. Desirable: Experience in Product development, testing, shelf life stability, and hands-on analytical skills.

CSIR IHBT Palampur Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

  • Most Project Associate positions: Maximum 35 years
  • Senior Project Associate: Maximum 40 years
  • Relaxation as per CSIR/GoI rules for reserved categories.

CSIR IHBT Recruitment 2026 Stipend / Remuneration

Stipend varies from Rs. 18,000/- to Rs. 42,000/- + HRA depending on position, qualification, and NET/GATE status.

Walk-in-Interview only. Candidates must report at 09:30 AM on the scheduled date with all original documents, self-attested copies, and application form. Selection is based on academic records, experience, and performance in the interview.
