BFUHS Medical Officer Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- MBBS Degree
- Registered with the Punjab Medical Council or with any duly constituted Medical Council in India
- Knowledge of Punjabi Language up to Matriculation Standard or its equivalent. Candidates who do not possess this qualification must acquire it within six months of joining the service, failing which their services will be terminated

Nationality
A candidate must be one of the following:
- A citizen of India, or
- A citizen of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Candidates falling under the Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugee, or migrant categories above must hold an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of Punjab, Department of Home Affairs and Justice.

Selected candidates will be given pay as per the central pattern for new recruits under the 7th CPC, with initial pay as per the pay matrix table at Level 9, amounting to ₹53,100/-.

- Written examination of 100 marks, conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences
- Candidates must score a minimum of 33% marks in the written test to be declared eligible; those scoring below 33% will be declared ineligible

Important Instructions
- Candidates should select their category carefully; the category once selected/filled will not be changed under any circumstances
- Certificates/diplomas/degrees from non-recognized institutions will not be considered, and such candidatures will be declared ineligible
- No TA/DA will be paid for journeys undertaken for the written test, counselling, etc.
- BFUHS has no mechanism to verify certificates of candidates applying online. If any certificate is found fictitious, bogus, or the candidate ineligible at any stage, the candidature will be cancelled and legal action taken
- Only Government employees certified by the Head of Department as having no pending disciplinary proceedings, punishment, or other material disqualification are eligible to issue appointment letters
- LDESM/Grand children of Gallantry Award Winners (domiciled in Punjab) are considered against Ex-Servicemen vacancies only if sufficient Ex-Servicemen are not available; otherwise they are treated as General Category candidates
- Reservation will be as per applicable rules and Punjab Government policy guidelines; the number of posts for reserved categories in the advertisement is provisional
- The candidate’s qualification must be held prior to the last date of filing applications
- The number of posts can be increased or decreased at any time as per departmental requirement
