A total of 31 vacancies across 16 post categories (Group A, B & C) have been notified, along with 2 backlog reserved posts of Laboratory Attendant (PwBD).

Assam University Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have not acquired the essential qualification as on 6 December 2025 will not be eligible and need not apply. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-servicemen candidates is applicable as per Government of India guidelines.

Assam University Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 Salary Structure

Selected candidates will be placed as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level applicable to each post, ranging from Level-1 (₹18,000-56,900) for attendant/MTS-level posts up to Level-14 (₹1,44,200-2,18,200) for Group A posts such as Finance Officer, Director (Computer Centre), and Controller of Examinations, along with applicable allowances. New Pension Scheme rules will apply upon appointment.

  • ₹1,000/- (non-refundable, online payment) for UR, EWS, and OBC candidates applying for Sl No. 01-07
  • ₹500/- (non-refundable, online payment) for UR, EWS, and OBC candidates applying for Sl No. 08-16
  • No application fee for SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-servicemen, and Women candidates; however, they must pay ₹200/- towards postal expenses
  • Candidates applying for more than one post must apply and pay fees separately for each post

Assam University Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

  • The University may conduct a Written Test/Skill Test for all Group B and Group C posts, covering Reasoning Ability, Simple Arithmetic, General Knowledge, Domain Knowledge, Finance & Accounts, Examinations, and Language Proficiency in English/Hindi, or a Noting/Drafting/Skill Test as per job requirements.
  • As per Government of India/UGC directives, no interview will be held for Group B and Group C posts; merit will be determined based on qualifications and test/skill evaluation.
  • The University may adopt its own procedure for recruitment to Group A Non-Teaching posts.
  • Applications will be screened and shortlisted by Screening Committees; mere eligibility does not guarantee a call for test/interview.
  • SC/ST outstation candidates called for tests/interviews will be reimbursed to-and-fro rail fare (Sleeper Class) or ordinary bus fare by the shortest route, except those already in Central/State Government/PSU/Local Government service.

How to Apply for Assam University Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026?

  1. Ensure you fulfil the eligibility criteria for age and qualification for the specific post before applying.
  2. Register on the recruitment portal: https://ausnt.samarth.edu.in (or https://curec.samarth.ac.in for Assistant Librarian).
  3. Fill in the prescribed electronic application form online with accurate personal, educational, and contact details.
  4. Pay the applicable application fee online through the payment gateway (where applicable).

Assam University Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions

  • Online submission of the application is essential; submission of a hard copy is also mandatory. Applications without the required hard copy/enclosures may not be considered.
  • Incomplete applications without relevant supporting documents will be summarily rejected.
  • No interview will be held for Group B and Group C posts, as per Government of India/UGC directives.
  • Candidates applying for reserved category posts must submit self-attested copies of the relevant caste/category/disability certificates in the prescribed format; failing which the application will be rejected.
  • Applicants who already applied under earlier Employment Notifications (2/2023, 1/2024, 2/2024, 2/2025) for specific posts (Executive Engineer-UR, Section Officer-EWS, ASO-EWS, UDC-EWS, Laboratory Attendant-PwBD) need not reapply, but may submit updated biodata by email to [email protected] by 16 August 2026.
  • If suitable EWS candidates are not available for EWS-reserved vacancies, such vacancies will be kept open for UR candidates.
  • No correspondence will be made with candidates who are not shortlisted; RTI applications during the recruitment process will not be entertained.
  • Any corrigendum, amendment, or addendum will be published only on the University website (www.aus.ac.in); no separate newspaper notice will be issued.
  • Canvassing in any form, direct or indirect, is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.
  • Original certificates must be produced at the time of test/interview/document verification; failure to do so may lead to cancellation of candidature.
  • A Service Agreement will be executed between the University and the selected candidate at the time of recruitment.
