The Office of the Deputy Commissioner Self Employment, District Amethi, Uttar Pradesh has invited applications from eligible women candidates for the post of Banking Correspondent Sakhi (BC Sakhi) in 166 vacant Gram Panchayats under Janpad Amethi. What Is BC Sakhi?
BC Sakhi stands for Banking Correspondent Sakhi – a woman appointed at the Gram Panchayat level to deliver banking services directly to rural households using a Micro-ATM, handheld device, or laptop. The BC Sakhi acts as a mobile banking point for villagers, enabling them to:
- Deposit and withdraw money from bank accounts
- Open new bank accounts
- Receive government scheme-based subsidies and wages (DBT)
- Access financial services without travelling to a bank branch
The BC Sakhi programme is implemented by the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission (UPSRLM) and is specifically designed to empower rural women while expanding financial inclusion in remote villages.

A total of 166 vacant Gram Panchayats in Janpad Amethi require BC Sakhi appointments. Candidates must apply only for the Gram Panchayat where they are permanent residents. The vacant Gram Panchayat list is available from the concerned Vikas Khand office.
BC Sakhi Eligibility Criteria
Who Can Apply?
Only women candidates fulfilling all of the following conditions are eligible:
- Must be a member of a Self Help Group (SHG) and must not be a loan defaulter
- Age between 18 years and 40 years
- Minimum educational qualification: Class 12 (Intermediate) pass
- Must have knowledge of operating a mobile phone and internet
- Must be willing to accept a support fund of ₹75,000 from UPSRLM at 4% annual interest rate
- Must be a permanent resident of the same Gram Panchayat for which she is applying
- Must be willing to travel throughout the Gram Panchayat, visit households, and go to business establishments for work

How to Apply for Amethi BC Sakhi Recruitment 2026
- Interested women SHG members should apply through their own Self Help Group.
- Application forms can be collected from the SHG, Gram Sangathan, or Sankul Sthariya Sangh.
- After SHG-level shortlisting, the Gram Sangathan forwards applications to the Sankul Sthariya Sangh.
- The Sankul Sthariya Sangh prepares a consolidated list of endorsed BC Sakhi candidates.
- The list is sent to the District Mission Management Unit (DMMU), Amethi through the Vikas Khand office.
- Final selection is done through written test and interview by a committee headed by the Chief Development Officer.

BC Sakhi Salary and Financial Support 2026
BC Sakhi is not a fixed salaried government post. Income is mainly commission-based from banking transactions conducted at the Gram Panchayat level.

- Commission income depends on transaction volume
- The ₹75,000 support fund is a loan, not a grant
