CSIR-CSIO Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
The minimum age for all posts is 18 years. Standard age relaxation applies for OBC (NCL) candidates (3 years, where the post is reserved for that category), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (10 years, 13 years for OBC-PwBD, subject to a maximum age of 56 years), Ex-Servicemen (3 years, or deduction of actual military service), and Widows/Divorced/Judicially Separated Women (up to 35 years, 38 years for OBC), as per Government of India rules.

CSIR-CSIO 2026 Salary Structure
In addition to basic pay, selected candidates get Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance and other benefits admissible to central government employees, along with Medical reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession and Children Education Allowance as per CSIR rules. Employees are covered under the New Pension Scheme.

CSIR-CSIO Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Security Officer
- Physical and Personality Assessment Test (qualifying in nature)
- Written Test – Paper I: Mental Ability and Personality Assessment Test (100 questions, 100 marks, no negative marking); Paper II: Comprehension, Report Writing, Security Regulations & Firefighting, and General Awareness (25 marks each, subjective)
- Final merit is based on Paper II performance, subject to qualifying the threshold in Paper I (30%) and Paper II (minimum 35%, as fixed by the Selection Committee)
Receptionist
Selection is through a Personality Assessment Test.
Driver
- Skill Test (qualifying)
- Written Test – 100 objective-type questions across General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English Language (25 questions each, 3 marks per correct answer, 1 negative mark per wrong answer); total 300 marks; duration 90 minutes
- Final merit list is based on written test performance
Both written tests (Security Officer, Driver) are OMR/Computer-based objective examinations set bilingually in English and Hindi (except the English Language paper for Driver), and can be attempted in either English or Hindi medium.
