216 Day 1 (20 Aug) – 9 Trades

396 Day 2 (21 Aug) – 9 Trades

612 Total Posts

Note: Trades not listed in the PwD/Orphan table above (Refrigeration & AC Mechanic, Draughtsman Civil, Turner, Motor Vehicle Body Builder, Desktop Publishing Operator, Machinist) have no PwD/Orphan-reserved posts, as the reservation point-value for these small vacancy counts did not round up to a whole post. A detailed sub-category breakup (SC/ST/VJ/NT-B/NT-C/NT-D/SEBC/EWS) for each trade, plus women’s reservation (30% within each category) and ex-servicemen (15%), is provided in the official notification – see Important Links.

BMC Trade Apprentice Eligibility 2026

Important: Only ITI-passed candidates from Maharashtra can register on the Apprenticeship India portal and select MCGM/BMC as the establishment. Backward-class candidates may apply against open-category posts, but multiple applications from the same candidate will not be considered.

BMC Trade Apprentice Age Limit

BMC Trade Apprentice Stipend 2026

Stipend is payable as per the applicable State Government guideline in force. This is a training stipend, not a regular salary – apprenticeship does not create a right to permanent employment.

BMC Trade Apprentice Selection Process

There is no written examination for this recruitment. Selection is based on:

  • Marks obtained in the final semester of the ITI trade examination, as declared in the mela application.
  • Applicable social reservation (SC/ST/VJ/NT-B/NT-C/NT-D/SEBC/EWS) and parallel reservation (Women 30%, Ex-servicemen 15%, Project-affected 5%, Sportspersons 5%, Earthquake-affected 2%, Orphans 1%, PwD 4%).
  • In case of a tie in marks, preference is given to the candidate with the earlier date of birth (seniority by age).
  • A combined merit list is prepared; high-scoring backward-class candidates are also considered against open-category posts.
  • Selected candidates’ names are published on the BMC recruitment portal, followed by document verification and an online offer.

Note: Under Section 22 of the Apprentices Act, 1961, BMC is not obligated to absorb apprentices into regular service after training completion. Selected candidates must submit a written undertaking accepting this condition.
