Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC) Scientist/Engineer SD Recruitment 2026 Notification has been released on 10th August 2026 on the official website www.hsfc.gov.in. A total of 6 vacancies have been announced through the HSFC Scientist/Engineer SD Recruitment 2026 for various disciplines including Bioinstrumentation, Biophysics, Medical Physics, Biotechnology, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering.

Candidates up to 35 years of age who have the required Ph.D. along with the prescribed Master’s/Bachelor’s qualification are eligible to apply for these Scientist/Engineer SD vacancies. The online application process for HSFC Scientist/Engineer SD Recruitment 2026 will start on 10th August 2026 and will remain open until 30th August 2026 at 5:00 PM.

Selected candidates will be appointed in Level-11 of the Pay Matrix with a salary of Rs. 67,700 – Rs. 2,08,700 per month, along with admissible allowances and other benefits. HSFC Scientist/Engineer SD Recruitment 2026 Overview

Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC), Bengaluru was formed within ISRO to lead the Human Space Flight Programme. HSFC is inviting online applications for direct recruitment to Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ posts in Level-11 of the Pay Matrix, vide Advertisement No. HSFC:01:RMT:2026 dated 10.08.2026.

Candidates who register on ISRO’s Live Register portal before 10.08.2026 or after 30.08.2026 will not be considered.

HSFC Scientist/Engineer SD Vacancy Details

All 6 posts are in the Unreserved (UR) category. The number of vacancies is provisional and may be increased or decreased based on actual requirement.

Candidates can apply for more than one post code if they meet the eligibility for each, though HSFC reserves the right to conduct interviews for two or more posts simultaneously as per administrative need. Where discipline names overlap (as in Post Codes 05 and 06), candidates should apply only against the post code matching their essential and pre-requisite qualification.

HSFC Scientist/Engineer SD Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is assessed as on the crucial date of 30.08.2026. Only candidates who hold the required qualification by this date can apply.

HSFC Scientist/Engineer SD Qualification (Post-Code Wise)

Additional qualification conditions:

  • The Ph.D. and Master’s/Bachelor’s qualification must be from a recognized university/institute.
  • Candidates with degrees from foreign universities must submit an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) at the time of interview.
  • The ME/M.Tech/MS/MSc/BE/B.Tech/BSc/BS-MS qualification must have been completed within the stipulated duration prescribed by the university.
  • Candidates who completed a professional course through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are not eligible.
  • Where CGPA is converted to a percentage, or vice versa, ISRO’s own eligibility criteria apply; conversion of CGPA to percentage using a university formula is not permitted to determine eligibility, and rounding-off of marks is not allowed.

HSFC Scientist/Engineer SD Age Limit

The upper age limit for all post codes (01 to 06) is 35 years as on the crucial date, 30.08.2026. Serving Central Government employees, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-Servicemen are eligible for age relaxation as per extant Government of India rules.

HSFC Scientist/Engineer SD Salary

Selected candidates will be placed in Level-11 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 67,700 – Rs. 2,08,700), with approximate gross emoluments of Rs. 67,700 per month plus admissible allowances.

In addition to Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Transport Allowance are payable as per extant rules. Employees are covered under the National Pension System/Unified Pension Scheme, along with medical facilities for self and dependents, subsidized canteen, quarters facility (in lieu of HRA), Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance and House Building Advance, as admissible under DOS/Central Government orders.

HSFC Scientist/Engineer SD Application Fee

There is no application fee for the Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ posts (Post Codes 01–06).

HSFC Scientist/Engineer SD Selection Process

Selection is based on the online application submitted through the ISRO Live Register portal:

  • Initial screening of applications to shortlist candidates for interview.
  • The prescribed qualification is the minimum requirement and does not by itself make a candidate eligible for interview or selection.
  • Final selection is based purely on performance in the Personal Interview.

Candidates also have the option to give the interview in Hindi.

  5. Upload the required photo, signature and qualification certificates as specified.
  6. Submit the application on or before 30.08.2026 (1700 hrs) and take a printout of the submitted application for future reference.
