UPSC declared the CAPF (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2025 final result on 7th August 2026, following the Personality Test conducted between 4th May 2026 and 29th May 2026.

Vacancy Details: Force-wise and Category-wise Breakup

Reserve List 2026

As per Rule 16(4) and 16(5) of the CAPF (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2025 rules, UPSC is maintaining a consolidated Reserve List of 164 candidates, ranked in order of merit below the last recommended candidate under their respective categories.

Selection Process

The CAPF Assistant Commandant selection process consists of the following stages:

  1. Written Examination (Paper I and Paper II) – held on 3rd August 2025
  2. Physical Standards Test / Physical Efficiency Test (as per prior stages of the recruitment cycle)
  3. Personality Test / Interview – held from 4th May 2026 to 29th May 2026
  4. Preparation of Final Merit List based on combined performance

Allotment of candidates to the respective services (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB) is made according to the merit secured and the service preference given by each candidate at the time of application.

Important Instructions and Conditions

  • Final selection/appointment of recommended candidates is subject to the outcome of pending writ petitions related to this examination in various High Courts across the country.
  • The result of 1 candidate has been withheld.
  • The candidature of 126 recommended candidates has been kept provisional, pending completion of due verifications.
  • Claims of recommended candidates regarding their EWS/OBC/SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen reservation status are subject to verification by the concerned authorities.
  • Appointments will be made according to the number of vacancies available and subject to candidates fulfilling all prescribed eligibility conditions under the Examination Rules.
  • Marks of candidates are likely to be made available on the UPSC website within 15 days of the declaration of this result.
