CSIR-IMMT Apprentice Trainee Vacancy 2026: Category-wise Vacancy and Stipend

CSIR-IMMT Bhubaneswar plans to engage 41 apprentice trainees across Engineering Graduate, Non-Engineering Graduate, Diploma Engineering and ITI categories. The institute has clarified that these numbers are tentative and may change.

Engineering Graduate (BE/B.Tech) – Stipend: Rs. 12,300/- per month

Non-Engineering Graduate (BA/BSc/B.Com/BCA) – Stipend: Rs. 12,300/- per month

Diploma Engineering – Stipend: Rs. 10,900/- per month

ITI Trades – Stipend: Rs. 10,560/- (six trades below) and Rs. 9,600/- (PASAA/COPA, Welder)

As per the notification, 50% of the stipend is paid by CSIR-IMMT on a monthly basis, and the remaining 50% government share (Rs. 4,500/- for Graduate-level trainees and Rs. 4,000/- for Diploma-level trainees) is paid at the old rate as per BOPT Letter No. BOPT/DT/2025-26 dated 15.09.2025. The notification does not specify a separate government-share breakdown for ITI trainees.

CSIR-IMMT Apprentice Trainee Eligibility Criteria and Qualification

Eligibility depends on the category applied for. All candidates must have completed their qualifying exam within the last five years and must not have prior work experience of one year or more, and must not have previously undergone apprenticeship training elsewhere.

Mandatory Portal Registration

Before appearing for the interview, candidates must register on the applicable government apprenticeship portal:

• Diploma / Engineering Graduate / Non-Engineering Graduate candidates: NATS 2.0 Portal (nats.education.gov.in)
• ITI candidates: NAPS Portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in)

Registration must be completed within five years of passing the qualifying examination, and only candidates who have registered and meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for the walk-in interview.

CSIR-IMMT Apprentice Trainee Salary / Stipend

Apprentice trainees will receive a monthly stipend ranging from Rs. 9,600/- to Rs. 12,300/-, depending on the category and trade, as detailed in the vacancy table above. 50% of the amount is paid by CSIR-IMMT and 50% is the government share.

CSIR-IMMT Apprentice Trainee Selection Process

Selection is based entirely on the candidate’s performance in the walk-in interview held at CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar. There is no written exam mentioned in the notification. Candidates selected will receive an engagement letter by email and must submit their acceptance within 3 days and join within 7 days of receiving it, failing which the selection is treated as cancelled.

How to Apply for CSIR-IMMT Apprentice Trainee Recruitment 2026

This recruitment does not use an online application form. Instead, eligible candidates must follow the walk-in process below:

1. Register on NATS 2.0 (Diploma/Graduate candidates) or NAPS (ITI candidates) portal, if not already registered.
2. Send a confirmation email of participation to [email protected] by 11:00 AM on 17.08.2026.
3. Download and fill the Application Form (Annexure-I) provided with the notification.
4. Report to S.S. Bhatnagar Hall, CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar between 9:30 AM and 10:15 AM on 18.08.2026 for registration and document verification.
5. Carry the filled application form along with self-attested photocopies of: 10th mark sheet and certificate; +2/Diploma/Degree mark sheet and certificate; Aadhaar card; Caste/Disability certificate (if applicable); and Bank passbook copy.
6. Attend the walk-in interview scheduled at 10:30 AM on 18.08.2026.

Candidates arriving after the 10:15 AM reporting cut-off will not be permitted to appear for the interview.

CSIR-IMMT Apprentice Trainee: General Conditions

• Candidates must have completed their diploma/graduation within the last five years and must not have completed five years since passing the qualifying exam.
• Candidates should not hold one year or more of prior work experience and must not have undergone apprenticeship training elsewhere previously.
• Original College Leaving Certificate (CLC) must be submitted at the time of joining and will be retained during the apprenticeship tenure.
• All original educational and identity documents will be verified at the time of reporting.
• The engagement is purely temporary for one year and does not entitle the apprentice to a claim for regular employment at CSIR-IMMT.
• Selected candidates must arrange their own accommodation; hostel accommodation may be provided subject to availability.
• The decision of the Competent Authority, CSIR-IMMT, on all matters relating to eligibility, selection, and cancellation is final and binding.
