Reservation Details
Reservation benefits under CAP apply only to candidates who fall under the Maharashtra State category. For instance, Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates are eligible for 19% reservation of the CAP seats available to Maharashtra State candidates. Reserved-category benefits are not applicable to Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J&K/Ladakh, migrant, or Gulf-country categories.
Application/ Registration Fee
As per the CAP Round 1 notification, General category candidates from Maharashtra State, as well as Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, migrant candidates, and children of Indian workers in Gulf countries are required to pay a CAP application fee of ₹1,300.

MHT CET 2026 CAP Round 1: Seat Allotment
The Round 1 seat allotment is prepared by the CET Cell based on the following parameters:
- Candidate’s final merit rank in MHT CET (or JEE Main/Class 12 marks, where applicable).
- Category and applicable reservation.
- Preferences (institute-course combinations) filled by the candidate during online option entry.
- Seat availability at each participating institute.
A higher-ranked preference filled by the candidate is always considered first. Once a seat is allotted against a preference, all lower preferences are automatically ignored for that round. The MHT CET 2026 counselling process consists of four CAP rounds, followed by Institute-Level Rounds (ILR) to fill any seats that remain vacant after all CAP rounds are completed.
