The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 07 of 2026, dated 08.07.2026, inviting online applications for Divisional Cadre posts across different departments. These posts are requisitioned under the PM Package for Kashmiri Migrants and Non-Migrant Kashmiri Pandits, based on an indent from the Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction (DMRRR) Department.

JKSSB is recruiting for 72 Divisional Cadre (Kashmir Division) posts across 7 post names – Draftsman (Civil), Sub-Inspector, Junior Statistical Assistant, Motor Vehicle Traffic Assistant, Junior Librarian, Library Assistant, and Depot Assistant – spread across the Public Works (R&B), Finance, Planning Development & Monitoring, Transport, School Education, and Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs departments. Only candidates who are “Migrants” as defined under SRO 412 of 2009 or “Kashmiri Pandits” as defined under SRO 425 of 2017, and who hold domicile of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir, are eligible to apply. Online applications open on 10.08.2026 and close on 08.09.2026. Selection is purely on merit in a written/OMR examination, followed by Document Verification. The application fee is Rs. 600 (Rs. 500 for SC/ST-1/ST-2/EWS/PwBD candidates), payable online only.

A total of 72 posts have been advertised under Advt No. 07 of 2026, all under the Divisional Cadre, Kashmir Division. The notification states the actual number of posts may increase or decrease during the selection process, and JKSSB is not legally liable for any such variation.

JKSSB Divisional Cadre Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment is restricted to a specific eligible group: only candidates who qualify as “Migrants” under SRO 412 of 2009, or as “Kashmiri Pandits” under SRO 425 of 2017, are eligible to apply. Migrant status is certified by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, J&K, while Kashmiri Pandit status is certified by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district. In addition, candidates must be domiciles of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, valid on or before the cut-off date of 08.09.2026.

JKSSB Divisional Cadre Qualification (Post-Wise)

Candidates must produce original certificates as proof of the prescribed qualification at the time of Document Verification, acquired strictly on or before the cut-off date. Candidates claiming an equivalent qualification must produce an Equivalence Certificate from the competent authority when required by the Board.

Age is reckoned as on 01.01.2026. The maximum age limit and date-of-birth range vary by category, as detailed below.

JKSSB Divisional Cadre Application Fee

Fee can be paid only through online mode – Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected, and no representation against such rejection will be entertained. Fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other examination or selection.

JKSSB Divisional Cadre Salary

Pay is fixed per post as per the applicable Pay Level, as shown in the vacancy table above (ranging from Level SL-1: 14800-47100 for Depot Assistant to Level-5: 29200-92300 for Junior Statistical Assistant). No consolidated stipend, grade pay breakdown, or allowances are specified beyond the Pay Level in the official notification.

 

JKSSB Divisional Cadre Selection Process

Selection for all 7 posts under this notification is made purely on the basis of merit obtained in the Written/OMR Examination, followed by Document Verification for shortlisted candidates.

  1. Written/OMR Examination: Objective type, Multiple Choice Questions, set in English language only. Negative marking of one-fourth (0.25) mark for each wrong answer applies.
  2. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates must appear with original documents – Domicile Certificate, Qualification Certificate, Category Certificate, Birth Certificate, Bonafide Certificate (if applicable), Migrant/Kashmiri Pandit status certificate – along with self-attested photocopies. Failure to appear or produce required documents on the scheduled DV date will result in the candidate not being considered for selection.

The date and centre of examination, along with the syllabus, will be notified separately on www.jkssb.nic.in. Admit cards will be available for download about one week before the examination date.

JKSSB Divisional Cadre Reservation and Horizontal Reservation

Reservation is applied as per the category-wise break-up conveyed by the Indenting Department and the Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act/Rules. If candidates are not available from any reserved category (other than RBA), those posts may be filled from the Open Merit category. Horizontal Reservation for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) is applicable as communicated by the Indenting Department; ESM horizontal reservation applies only to posts carrying pay up to Level-6E (35900-113500). An ESM candidate who avails Horizontal Reservation on joining a post cannot avail it again for subsequent employment.

JKSSB Divisional Cadre Required Documents

  • Domicile Certificate of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir, valid as on the cut-off date (08.09.2026).
  • Migrant status certificate (SRO 412 of 2009) issued by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, J&K, OR Kashmiri Pandit status certificate (SRO 425 of 2017) issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district.
  • Original educational qualification certificates as prescribed for the post applied for.
  • Category/Reserved Category Certificate in the prescribed format, valid as on the cut-off date (if applicable).
  • Ex-Servicemen Certificate in Form-XIV, duly signed by the competent authority (if applicable).
  • Person with Disability Certificate, Certificate regarding Physical Limitation to Write (Annexure-B), and Letter of Undertaking for Using Own Scribe (Annexure-C), for PwBD candidates seeking scribe/compensatory time.
  • Bonafide Certificate from the Controller/Registrar of the concerned University, for candidates with degrees from institutions outside the UT of J&K (other than Central Universities).
  • Two recent passport-size colour photographs (not older than 6 months, with date mentioned) and an original valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card/e-Aadhaar printout, Voter ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, or Institution/Employer ID Card).

How to Apply for JKSSB Divisional Cadre Recruitment 2026

Applications must be submitted in online mode only; no other means of application will be accepted. Detailed instructions and the Online Portal link will be made available separately on the JKSSB website.

  1. Visit the official JKSSB website: www.jkssb.nic.in
  2. Locate the online application link for Advertisement Notification No. 07 of 2026.
  3. Register and fill in the online application form carefully, providing Name, Date of Birth, Father’s Name, and Mother’s Name exactly as per the Matriculation Certificate.
  4. Upload the required documents: live photograph, signature (10 KB–20 KB), Category Certificate (max 100 KB, PDF), and Qualification/Experience certificates (self-attested, max 100 KB, PDF).
  5. Pay the application fee online (Rs. 600, or Rs. 500 for SC/ST-1/ST-2/EWS/PwBD) via Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card.
  6. Review all entries carefully before final submission – no corrections are allowed after submission.
  7. Take a printout of the submitted application form and retain it for Document Verification; do not submit hard copies to the JKSSB office by post or in person.

In-service candidates must additionally submit a printout of the filled application, along with a duly signed and stamped certificate, through proper channel (Head of Department) to the Office of the Secretary, JKSSB, by the last date of Document Verification.

JKSSB Divisional Cadre Important Instructions

  • Candidates are advised to submit online applications well before the closing date to avoid last-minute portal load issues.
  • Only one online application is allowed per Item Number; multiple applications for the same item may lead to cancellation and debarment.
  • No request for change/correction in submitted application particulars will be entertained under any circumstances.
  • Applications with blurred or illegible photographs/signatures will be rejected summarily.
  • Mobile phones, smart watches, AI-enabled devices, and other electronic/communication devices are strictly prohibited during the examination.
  • Candidates must carry two recent passport-size colour photographs and a valid original photo ID to the examination venue, failing which they will not be permitted to appear.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for participation in the written test or Document Verification.
  • The decision of the Board on eligibility, selection mode, results, and debarment is final and binding.
