1. Senior Resident (Under Residency Scheme) – 26 Posts
Tenure: 3 years, subject to annual evaluation and renewal based on satisfactory performance.
Note: Candidates who have already worked as a Senior Resident under the 3-year Central Residency Scheme for 3 years are not eligible to apply again. ESIC Okhla Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Senior Resident (Under Residency Scheme)
- Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in the concerned specialty from a recognized university, registered with the Delhi Medical Council, Medical Council of India, or State Medical Council.
- If PG/Diploma doctors are not available, MBBS doctors without a PG degree, having two years of experience (including 1 year in the concerned specialty) from a government or private hospital (not a private clinic), may be appointed for 1 year on contract.
- As per the latest National Medical Commission (NMC/MCI) guidelines, if Super-Speciality Senior Residents (MCh/DM) are not available, Senior Residents from the concerned parent broad specialities will be considered.
- If no suitable candidate is available against an advertised post, any other candidate present may be considered for Senior Resident irrespective of category, for short-term engagement.
Contractual Senior Resident
- PG Degree or Diploma in the concerned specialty, registered with DMC/MCI/State Medical Council.
- Candidates with at least 2 years’ experience after MBBS (1 year in the concerned specialty/discipline) may also appear if no PG/Diploma candidate appears in the identical specialty.
Full Time Contractual Specialist
- MBBS with Post Graduate degree/diploma in the concerned speciality from a recognized university.
- 3 years’ experience after acquiring the PG Degree (for Junior Specialist – Level 11), or 5 years’ experience after acquiring the PG Diploma (for Senior Specialist – Level 12).
- Registered with DMC/MCI/State Medical Council.
Full Time / Part Time Contractual Super Specialist
- MBBS, MD/MS/DNB with DM/DNB/M.Ch in the concerned Super Speciality from an MCI-recognized medical college, registered with DMC/MCI/State Medical Council.
- Entry Level: 3 years’ experience in the concerned Super-Speciality after the first PG degree, or 5 years’ experience after the PG diploma.
- Senior Level: 5 years’ experience in the concerned Super-Speciality after the first PG degree.
- For DM/M.Ch qualifications of five years’ duration, the senior PG residency period rendered in the last part of the course counts towards the experience requirement.

Selection is made purely through a walk-in interview – there is no written examination or online application process. Candidates must appear in person on the notified date and time with the prescribed application form and all original/photocopied documents for verification. Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions
- Private practice of any kind is not allowed for full-time contractual engagements; violation may attract action under relevant rules.
- Recruitment is purely contractual; selected candidates have no claim to regularization of service.
- Canvassing in any form leads to disqualification.
- Candidates already in service must submit a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of interview.
- The contractual engagement may be terminated by either side with one month’s prior notice, without assigning any reason.
- No service benefits such as PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Seniority, or Promotion are admissible.
- Absence from work for 10 days without proper permission amounts to abandonment of engagement; no separate disengagement order is necessary in such cases.
- If a selected candidate resigns within 6 months of joining, an experience certificate will not be issued; in case of termination, the certificate may be withheld.
- No TA/DA is payable for appearing in the interview or for joining the post.
- No hostel accommodation, quarters, or uniform will be provided.
- On joining, the selected candidate must deposit Rs. 10,000/- via demand draft/banker’s cheque in favour of “ESIC Fund Account No. 1,” refundable after completion of a minimum of 3 months’ service (including the 30-day notice period) and submission of a “No Dues Certificate.”
- Selected contractual candidates must sign an Agreement as per ESIC norms on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 100/-, with the stamp paper cost borne by the candidate.
- The Medical Superintendent, ESIC Hospital Okhla, reserves the right to fill any or no posts, or cancel the interview at any stage, and the number of posts may increase or decrease as per requirement.
