Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune has invited applications from Indian nationals for the position of Project Associate-I purely on temporary and contractual basis under the funded project titled “Multidisciplinary data-driven present-day thermochemical and thermomechanical structure of the Himalaya and Tibet: implications for geodynamic evolution”. IISER Pune Project Associate-I Recruitment 2026 Overview
Minimum Educational Qualification
- MS / M.Sc. in Geophysics / Geological Science / Earth Science / Applied Geology / Applied Geophysics with CGPA ≥ 8.0 or equivalent grade/percentage.
Preference: Candidates with prior research experience in Solid Earth Geophysics and Geodynamics, knowledge of Python programming, bash shell scripting, and Linux-Ubuntu will be preferred.
Job Requirements: The incumbent is expected to help in relevant data analysis.
Consolidated Emoluments (Per Month)
- Rs. 30,000/- + 30% House Rent Allowance
- Rs. 37,000/- + 30% House Rent Allowance (for scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship or GATE or through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies/Institutions).
Age Limit
Not more than 35 years as on the last date of application. Age relaxation may be considered for candidates with higher qualifications/experience with prior approval of competent authority.

- The Project Investigator may restrict the number of candidates for interview based on recommendations of the Screening Committee.
