CAT Deputation Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

Stage 1 – Forwarding of Application through Proper Channel

The parent department must furnish a certificate confirming that the officer is clear from vigilance point of view and that no disciplinary case is pending or contemplated against them. Officers who volunteer for the post shall not be allowed to withdraw their application after selection.

Stage 2 – Scrutiny of Applications and ACR/APAR Records

Applications received along with attested copies of ACR/APAR for the last five years will be scrutinized by CAT. Applications received after the last date or found incomplete — such as for want of ACR/APAR, vigilance clearance certificate, or without the seal of the office — will not be entertained. CAT will not be in a position to return any documents provided by the applicant or parent office, irrespective of selection.

Stage 3 – Posting

The selected officer/official may be posted at the Bench where the vacancy is available at the relevant point of time. Number of vacancies and place of posting are subject to change.

How to Apply for CAT Deputation Recruitment 2026

Applications must be submitted offline only in the prescribed Proforma for Furnishing Bio Data (as given in the notification), typed in Double Space on single side, through proper channel. No online application mode is available. The application, along with attested copies of ACR/APAR for the last five years and the Certificate furnished by the Head of Office, must be forwarded to the Principal Registrar, CAT Principal Bench so as to reach within 30 days from the date of publication of this Circular in the Employment News.

Documents Required to be Submitted with the Application:

  • Duly filled and signed Bio Data Proforma (typed in Double Space on single side) as per the format prescribed in the notification
  • Attested copies of ACR/APAR for the last five years
  • Certificate furnished by the Head of Office confirming: (a) service particulars verified and correct; (b) no vigilance enquiry/disciplinary proceeding pending or contemplated; (c) the officer will be relieved of duties on selection
  • Supporting documents in proof of educational qualifications (degree certificates, mark sheets)
  • Service particulars in chronological order including deputation terms and financial upgradations as per the format in the Proforma
  • Any other relevant document in support of eligibility for the specific post applied for

Important Instructions for CAT Deputation Recruitment 2026 Candidates

  • The period of deputation, including deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or another organization/department of the Central Government, shall ordinarily not exceed five years in total.
  • Pay and allowances and other terms of deputation will be regulated in accordance with DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time.
  • Employees of the Central Administrative Tribunal are eligible for and may continue to retain General Pool Residential Accommodation as per extant rules.
  • The number of vacancies may increase or decrease during the final recruitment process. The selected officer/official may be posted at the Bench where the vacancy would be available at the relevant point of time.
  • Applications must be forwarded through proper channel only. The department, while forwarding applications, must ensure that the officer/official who volunteers for the post shall not be allowed to withdraw his/her name later.
  • A vigilance clearance certificate to the effect that the officer is clear from the vigilance point of view and that no disciplinary case is pending or contemplated must be furnished by the forwarding authority along with the application.
  • Applications received after the expiry of the last date, or incomplete applications (want of ACR/APAR, vigilance clearance certificate, or without the official seal), will not be entertained under any circumstance.
  • CAT will not be in a position to return any documents provided by the applicant or the parent office, irrespective of whether the candidate is selected or not.
  • Candidates must declare in the Proforma (Point 14) that they understand they shall not be allowed to withdraw their application after selection.
