Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on 01-06-2026 (last date of application). Qualifications and experience are as notified by the Government of Maharashtra, UGC, AICTE, and SPPU from time to time. The subject specialization mentioned in this notification is indicative and desirable – candidates with UGC-prescribed minimum qualifications for Assistant Professor other than those specified may also apply.
SPPU Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 – Age Limit

Selection is through document verification followed by interview. Candidates who fulfill the conditions mentioned in the notification and are found eligible after document verification will be called for interview. Stage 1 – Online Application & Shortlisting
Candidates must apply online at https://admin.unipune.ac.in/recruitment from 23-05-2026 to 01-06-2026. A separate application must be submitted for each department/post. Applications must be complete in all respects – incomplete applications and applications with incorrect/false information will be disqualified at any stage.
Stage 2 – Document Verification
Candidates who are prima facie eligible will be called for document verification. Candidates must submit the application form along with all enclosures to the Head of the concerned Department at the time of interview for verification. Original documents plus attested copies of all required documents must be produced. Candidates must NOT send hard copies to the Department or Administration Teaching Section by post or in person at any time before or after the interview.
Stage 3 – Interview
Candidates found eligible after document verification will be eligible for interview. Date, time, and venue of interviews will be notified by the concerned Department. Candidates appearing for interview at Ahilyanagar Sub Center (Code A-17) and Nashik Center (Code B-03) must note that interviews will be held at those respective locations, not at the main SPPU campus. All candidates must appear for interview at their own expense.

Important Instructions for SPPU Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 Candidates
- THIS IS NOT A PERMANENT APPOINTMENT. The post of Assistant Professor (Contractual) is purely temporary in nature, up to 31st May, 2027. Selected candidates will not have any claim for regularization or permanent appointment on the basis of this contractual engagement.
- Separate application must be submitted for each post/department. A single common application for multiple departments is not valid.
- Candidates must NOT send or submit hard copies of the application to the Department or Administration Teaching Section by post or in person – only online applications are accepted.
- Application at interview: Candidates must bring the printout of the online application form along with all supporting original documents and attested/self-attested photocopies to the concerned Department Head at the time of interview for verification.
- Qualifications, relevant experience, and age will be counted as on the last date of receipt of application (01-06-2026). Documents acquired after the cut-off date will not be considered.
- Candidates furnishing incorrect or false information shall stand disqualified at any stage, including after appointment.
- Canvassing directly or indirectly will be a disqualification.
- Candidates called for interview must appear at their own expense. The University will not reimburse travel or any other expenses.
- Candidates from reserved categories from outside Maharashtra will be treated as Open category only.
